| MPLS & SIP: Enterprise-quality communications |
|
MPLS - Multi Protocol Label Switching
MPLS is a high-speed internet connectivity protocol which allows different types of data to be transmitted with priorities attached to each type of data. A Quality of Service (QoS) and Traffic Management layer prioritises each data package according to the importance of speed of delivery.
For example, on a network that has users sending emails and making VoIP phone calls, the VoIP traffic is prioritised over the email traffic to ensure no loss of quality or latency for those users making VoIP calls. MPLS thus provides a quality network environment which allows for true convergence of voice and data.
We have also found that our MPLS service is particularly useful for customers who wish to separate mission critical data, such as CRM and ERP systems or credit card transactions, from internet traffic and email.
MPLS is ideal for use in companies looking to link offices both nationally and worldwide in order to both boost communications and reduce call costs. It is also ideal for home-workers, as individuals can be connected directly into the head office data and telecoms network hub.
GPNS has enabled MPLS over the core of its network. We can therefore provide secure IP VPN networks to both small and large customers very cost effectively. Whatever your business challenge, from VoIP to homeworker access, our high bandwidth, scalable MPLS-enabled IP VPN solutions are designed to fit your needs.

SIP- Session Initiation Protocol
SIP is one of the of the first true IP transit services on the market, giving you full PSTN (traditional telephone) connectivity across the data network. With SIP from GPNS, you will be connected directly into our network using our high-bandwidth IP backbone for seamless and highly functional IP telephony.
The benefits of SIP communications
- FREE calls between sites
- Lower Cost Calls beyond the network
- Lower cost than ISDN, DDI ranges and CLI presentation are included in the price
- Scalable on a per channel (i.e. number of simultaneous calls) basis
- Easy to order - reduced lead time when compared to BT ISDN 30
- Available over LLU or SDSL in selected areas or as a pure IP service
- Complements a converged network with lower costs and simplified architecture
